Reimagining Primary Care — with Technology, Equity & Heart

Family physician. Digital health innovator. Equity advocate.

About Me

Hi, I’m Dr. Magan

I came to Sonoma County from Peru as a teenager and built my path in medicine here—from UC Davis School of Medicine to Family Medicine residency at Kaiser Santa Rosa, with an MPH focused on community health.
That journey shapes how I practice, think, and lead. As one of the few Latina physicians in the U.S., I carry both personal perspective and professional experience into every space I serve—whether it’s the clinic, community, or conversations around innovation.
My work lives at the intersection of clinical care, community health, digital innovation, and policy—all anchored by one question:
How can we make healthcare more meaningful—for the people we serve and those who deliver it?

This site is my digital front porch—where I share what I’m building, learning, and advocating for.
I’m glad you’re here.

Bridging Gaps

Why I Do This

I became a doctor to bridge—not just treat—the gaps I saw growing up: language barriers, fragmented systems, and moments when care felt impersonal or out of reach. That lens has shaped every step of my journey and continues to guide my work.
I work at the intersection of medicine, technology, and advocacy—not to chase trends, but to restore meaning and connection in healthcare. I believe progress is collaborative, values-driven, and community-informed—and I’m committed to building toward that future, together.

My Values

Grounded in Values That Guide My Work

Equity as Everyday Practice

I believe care should be built with—not just offered to—communities. My work focuses on designing systems that reflect the lived experiences of those they serve. I’ve seen how inequities show up in patient care—not as abstract statistics, but as missed appointments, mistrust, and unmet needs. That’s why equity isn’t just a principle—it’s part of every decision.

Collaboration with Integrity

Progress happens through shared purpose. In every partnership—whether in community programs, policy spaces, or research—I lead with trust, mutual respect, and a commitment to building something greater together.

Curiosity as Compass

I lead with questions, not assumptions. Whether I’m redesigning workflows, mentoring students, or exploring new technology, I approach challenges with humility, openness, and a desire to understand before acting.

Care with Accountability

Good care is grounded in evidence, compassion, and responsibility. I bring transparency to my work and hold myself accountable to outcomes that matter—for patients, teams, and communities.
